Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What Sanitisers are available?
Q2. Why would my water become cloudy?
Q3. Why would my water go a green colour?
Q4. Why would my water become foamy?

A1. We have a range of sanitising agents available

Many different types of sanitising agents are available, such as Chlorine, Bromine, Active Oxygen, Aquagarde etc. In our experience a bromine program is the easiest to follow and maintain. Research other peoples' experiences by typing things like ' Hot Tub chemical problems' into a search engine like GOOGLE. You will be surprised how much you can learn in a few minutes..

A2. Cloudy Water can be a sign that something wrong with the chemical programme

Cloudy Water is usually the first sign that something has gone wrong with your chemical program. Filters are the usual culprit. Try cleaning them and letting the tub run overnight. Cloudy water can usually be cleared overnight using Flocculents such as 'Polysheen'. Ask your supplier, you will not be the first customer to have this problem!

A3. Greenish colour is a result of sanitiser level dropping

Green discoloured water usually stems from your sanitiser dropping below the required level needed to prevent the formation of certain Algae's. This can in many case be resolved by using a 'Granular Shock Treatment' which basically burns off contaminants and pathogens, this process usually takes one overnight treatment. However in some cases a second application is required the following evening, again ask your supplier for help.

A4. A common and unwelcome gift from a wide range of sources

Foamy water is quite common and is usually an unwanted gift from your guests, soap, hair and skin products, even washing detergents on swim wear can produce foam in Hot Tubs. The best way to prevent this unsightly occurrence is to always shower without any soaps or gels before entering your Hot Tub. Another tip is to rinse your swim wear in clean water and allow to dry naturally after every use.
